The B's Vitamins for Nerves and Stress
Yes the B vitamins, just how important are they to our well being? Well here is what worked for me.
My story quickly, single mom, two children, working, tired, anxious and life very fast paced........my feelings were simple, especially the day I got a panic attack. Me? how? and why?
I discovered it was part of the every day process, raising two kids and constantly on the run, and my gas pedal was on full tilt, to the point it was hard to unwind, especially when I needed to sleep. After research a little, back then it was not just a click of google, you literally had to research, and with my nursing background, I came up with some valuable input on the Vitamin B's. Even though I ate well, my body was working in overtime.
Many of the B vitamins including B6 (Pyridoxine), B1 (Thiamine), and B3 (Niacinamide) are excellent vitamin supplements for anxiety. Known for their positive effects on the nervous system, vitamin supplements for anxiety stabilize the body's lactate levels which are responsible for various anxiety attacks.
As a protector of the nervous system Vitamin B does calm the body and mind, aiding in the combating of anxiety, irritability, tension and insomnia. A very important vitamin group that is very needed enabling your body cells to convert carbohydrates and fats into energy.
Bottom line the B-complex vitamins are helpful for many, at calming nerves along with sunshine which is your Vitamin D, to promote the calming of nerves.
I choose a life brand Vitamin B Complex capsules, as they are easy to swallow, and the bottle dosage as shown, from Shoppers Drug Mart, and started taking this, and guess what, it worked, all of a sudden I was back, my feet were on the ground, and instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off, I was ever so much calmer, and could sleep again, and handle everything so much better.
B-Vitamins are one of the most commonly linked vitamins to reducing anxiety. Many experts argue that these vitamins are powerful tools for anxiety relief, and that supplementation can cure or reduce your anxiety symptoms, and when this happens, a new feeling of calmness sets in.
As humans, not everything works for everyone, this did work for me and several of my friends that were feeling anxious, nervous with this fast paced life, and it also aided in a better sleep. Worth a try for a few weeks. My husband was hyper with the stress A personality, and guess what? Helps him as well. We both take same dose and same brand, no difference, keep it simple. Been 30 years now, and it is still one of my favourites, for those of us that need a little calming.
It is always wise to have your Vitamin B12, checked as this can also cause problems, Deficiency in this B Vitamin, can lead to depression and mood problems, including anxiety and lack of sleep. It can affect nerve tissue and affect memory.
With the internet today, please take a few hours and research a little, it will go a long way. There are many articles on this now, with much more details than mine. This has been a stabilizer in my life and worth the sharing of what worked for us.
